Current challenges and perspectives of the informatization in Cuba and the society of our days

The Cuban society is ready to access technologies. That is why ETECSA is getting ready for the Cuban people to access to Internet. Specialists say that Cuba must project itself to a more massive informatization, everyday safer and more inclusive.

To reach the informatization implies to get the right infrastructure; therefore Cuba is taking steps that allow a massive informatization of the society, which will provide access to services and digital connectivity. Moreover, the legal framework is being prepared.

Cuba has to accomplish that young people participate in the political battle from an adequate computerized platform, to defend the motherland from today’s trench, the cyberspace.

On the other hand, the project “Red Cuba” will allow having a technological independence where it will be possible to access to knowledge and information from safe and trustworthy sources, web sites that publish history without manipulation or distortions.

A safe informatization prepares us for the fight in the cyberspace. It will avoid cyberattacks from abroad, which are a trend lately and affect our digital space. We cannot be naïve in this regard, because cyberspace is vulnerable and every Cuban should be wary of it.

Cuba guaranties an educational program in order to get to a safe and inclusive informatization.
