To be held National Workshop on Informatization and Cybersecurity

Professionals of this sector will debate during three days on how to accomplish safe processes in our society. The First National Workshop on Informatization and Cybersecurity will session in Havana February 18-20, informed this Friday the Doctor of Technical Sciences Ailyn Febles Estrada, vice-rector of the University of Informatics Sciences (Spanish: Universidad de las Ciencias Informáticas UCI)

The main objective of the gathering is to promote the analysis regarding the institutional capabilities and the human and technological potential the country has in order to guarantee the safe informatization of the society, she highlighted.

The vice-rector explained, the workshop will have a plenary session on February 18 in the Convention Palace of Havana and will be used the videoconference technology so that delegates from all provinces can participate. A total of 11 000 computer experts of all sectors, including the non-state sector, will be connected.

During the plenary will be explained the bases of the informatization policy of the country and the priorities in that sense. Once concluded, said Febles Estrada, a debate will be held in the web site of the Ministry of Communications, www.mincom.gob.cu, access will be enabled in the next few days.

As part of the workshop will begin a process of creation of a new social organization that will assembly professionals of the country linked to the Information and Communications Technologies, noted Febles Estrada.

On February 19 and 20 the event will session in the Technologies Investigation Center, in the Polytechnic University José Antonio Echeverría. Around 260 experts will debate in commissions four essential subjects: the human and scientific resources the country has, electronic government, information security and economy and legality.
